RABBIT SALES INFORMATION

Stud Information

Please note we are not a pet shop and do not sell our rabbits to make a profit. We are hobbyist breeders of quality Dutch rabbits that are suitable for the purposes mentioned in their descriptions. We have a very small stud of just 12-14 rabbits (plus any litters) meaning we are able to give our rabbits plenty of one-to-one attention. Baby rabbits are regularly handled from as young as possible.

Minimum Age and Health Requirements

As responsible breeders we do not sell any rabbits before they are at least 8 weeks old and all rabbits sold will be in good health to the best of our knowledge.

New Owner Requirements

We only sell rabbits to adults (over 18 years of age, or children with parents who are present) who we believe to understand the needs and requirements of their new pet. We encourage potential new owners to visit our rabbitry prior to collecting their rabbit to discuss the responsibilities of owning a pet rabbit. New owners must have a suitable hutch, bedding, food/water dispenser and feed arranged for their new rabbit before collection, although for a small fee we can supply some of these accessories ourselves. I reserve the right to refuse to sell an animal to anyone I feel would make an unsuitable owner.

Care Information and Rabbit Accessories

All of our rabbits are sold with a small bag of the food they have been raised on so new owners can gradually wean them over to their preferred brand of rabbit feed. We also supply a detailed care sheet complete with our contact details in case future help and advice is required as we are committed to the well-being of our rabbits even after they have been re-homed. Should the new owner wish, we can also supply an accurate pedigree form (including colour codes) with as much information as we have on the rabbit.

Reserving a Rabbit

Rabbits can be chosen and reserved before they are old enough to be taken away, or before the new owners are ready for their arrival by leaving a £10 deposit with us. Deposits can be made on-line via our secure PayPal page (opens in a new window). If, before the collection date, the new owner decides they no longer wish to buy the rabbit the deposit will be used to pay for its upkeep while we find another buyer so for this reason the deposit is non-refundable. In the unlikely event there is a health problem with the chosen rabbit at the time of collection we will keep the rabbit while we try to nurse it back to full health and will arrange a new collection date. If this is not suitable, or if the rabbit cannot be brought back to full health, we will invite the new owner to choose a replacement rabbit. If we cannot offer a suitable replacement rabbit the deposit money will be refunded and we will put you in contact with another local breeder.

Pricing and Donations

Our sale rabbits are priced competitively at an amount that also reflects their quality. We do not give our rabbits away free as we feel this devalues the rabbit and may attract the wrong kind of potential new owner. If we do have a rabbit for re-homing that we do not wish to charge a set fee for we will ask for a donation. Suitable donations could be a monetary amount, or an item that would be beneficial to our other rabbits such as a bale of shavings, a bale of hay, rabbit toys, rabbit treats or suitable fruit and vegetables. Please do not offer us rabbit food as a donation as our rabbits are fed on a particular brand of feed and changing their diet can be stressful.

Returning a Rabbit

Should the new owner ever find they can no longer keep the rabbit they have purchased from us we are happy to accept the rabbit back rather than needlessly filling up a much needed space in a rescue centre. If returning a rabbit to us please ensure you supply enough of the rabbit's food for us to gradually wean it back to our brand of food and a suitable hutch for us to house the rabbit in as we are not a pet shop so do have limited hutch space. We are afraid we cannot offer a refund for any rabbits returned to us except in exceptional circumstances.
